Graveside services for Eric Scott Essary, 33, will be held on June 17, at 12:00 p.m., at Hooker Ridge Cemetery in Lone Oak.
Mr. Essary died on June 9, 2026, at Christus Hospital in Sulphur Springs. He was born on September 18, 1992, in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Essary was a graduate of Rains High School. His career was spent mostly in corrections—a tough and demanding job. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in the outdoors, camping under open skies, fishing by riversides, and the satisfaction of fixing things with his hands. Collecting lanterns became a cherished hobby.
He loved his family and was devoted to Cayli Wagenhauser, and considered being with them as one of his proudest accomplishments.
Mr. Essary is survived by Cayli Wagenhauser; children, Xander and Xayne Essary; brother, Matt Essary and wife Robyn; and nieces and nephews, Raylan and Ella Grace Essary.
A visitation for Mr. Essary will be held one hour prior to the graveside service, at 11:00 a.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
