James Melvin Vinson IV, known to many as “Bubba J,” 29, died on April 13, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1996, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to James Melvin Vinson III and Jacqueline Street Vinson.
A true lover of the outdoors, Mr. Vinson’s passions revolved around hunting and fishing. His daughter, Chevy, stood as his proudest accomplishment and shining joy of his life.
Mr. Vinson is survived by his daughter, Chevy Vinson; mother, Jaqueline Street Vinson; sister, Kimberly Dyer and husband Scott; grandparents, Teresea Vinson, James Melvin Vinson II, and Jean Vinson; aunts and uncles, Franklin and Miracle Lovell and children, Shannon and Shannon Vinson and children, Susie and Adam Martin, Ronnie Lovell, and Shantel Vinson; cousins, Alix Vinson, Liv Vinson, and Lexi Vinson; nieces and nephews, Baylee, Scarlett, Nova, and Daxton; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Melvin Vinson III; and grandparents, Judy and Ronnie Lovell and James Melvin Vinson.
