Graveside services for Wanda “Sandy” Collins, 90, of Fruitvale, will be held on Monday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving. Serving as pallbearers will be Lanham Ollive, Denton Ollive, Patrick Basham, Chad Case, Brian Kuhn and Tim Osborn.
Mrs. Collins died on June 15, 2024, in Tyler. She was born on December 12, 1933, in Bells, to Isaac Elijah and Bertha Angeline Cobb Standridge. She spent her early years in Irving, before moving to Fruitvale 53 years ago. She was a member of AQHA, Limousin Cattle Association, Texas Barrel Racing Assoc., Texas Sunshine Girls Equestrian Drill Team, and Lewisville Saddle Club. She worked at Mistletoe Boots in Grand Saline and for Dr. Pruitt’s Vet Clinic in Mineola. She loved her horses and won many barrel races.
She is survived by her three daughters, Connie Ollive and husband Bruce of Big Sandy, Lisa Case and husband Rusty of Quinlan, and Kristie Basham and husband Tim of Canton; brother, Donald Standridge and wife Jimmie of Emory; seven grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Kuhn and husband Brian, Jamie Osborn and husband Tim, Lanham Ollive, Denton Ollive and wife Tara, Jennifer Basham, Patrick Basham and wife Ashley, and Chad Case and wife Hali; sixteen great-grandchildren, Morgan, Cason, Bryce, Madison, Aidin, Blain, Logan, Cutter, Lawson, Tristyn, Elizabeth, Hayden, Stella, Josie, Barrett and Hadli; one great-great-grandchild, Cash, and one on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Miah “Tex” Collins; and brother, Gary Lynn Standridge.
The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 23, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
