Wanda Fae Trimble Traylor

A funeral service for Wanda Fae Trimble Traylor, 86, of Emory was held May 22 at Emory Baptist Church.

Mrs. Traylor died on May 18, 2020. She was born on August 8, 1933, in Rains County to Clinton and Dollie Luckett Trimble.

She graduated from Emory High School with the class of 1951. She married Delbert Traylor on June 30, 1951. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Dallas and later to Mesquite where she worked for a hat company and Southwestern Bell Telephone. In 1955, they started their family and she became a full-time mother and housewife.

She and Delbert moved back to Emory in 1969. She helped at the family-owned Gulf Station for four years and then assumed bookkeeping duties and assisted Delbert and the boys at Traylor’s Garage and Wrecker Service. She was always preparing home-cooked meals for them, until the garage closed.

As a girl she attended Prospect Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized at an early age in a stock pond. She taught Sunday school, helped with vacation Bible school, and was actively involved in church functions at Elm Baptist Church until her illness prevented her from attending.

Mrs. Traylor is survived by her daughter, Dianne and husband Red Ferrell; two sons, David Traylor and wife Cheryl and Randy Traylor and wife Deborah, all of Emory; three brothers, Floyd Dean Trimble of Farmers Branch, Billy Gene Trimble and wife Edith of Point, Leo Trimble and wife Barbara of Hawkins; a sister, Sandra Stone and husband Jimmy Don of Emory; six grandchildren, Clint Traylor, Chad Ferrell and wife Whitney, Shawnee Peacock and husband Matthew, Jayde Sustaire and husband Kevin, Stacy Smith and husband Justin, and Lacey Mills and husband Ryan; 13 great-grandchildren, Katy and Eli Traylor, Eric and Courtney Ferrell, Tucker and Tate Peacock, Kole and Kade Sustaire, Sheldon and Sawyer Smith, and Jaden, Jacey and Emma Mills; four step-grandchildren, Lonnie Ferrell, Tim Ferrell, Shannon Rosenbalm and Mandy Duke; nine step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Lee Roy and Jimmy Trimble.
