Thomas Wesley Nelson was born on January 23rd, 1941, in Point, Texas and died on November 1st, 2025, in Point, Texas. He is to be buried in Lone Star Cemetery along with his father Thomas Jeff Nelson and other family members such as his half brothers and sisters that are buried there.
Wesley joined the Navy in January 1957 where he spent 5 years in service. Upon being discharged he spent several years working as an AC and Heating man.
He later met and married Ms. Retta L. Dodd and they had one child together, Angela Leigh Nelson. After Mrs. Retta Nelson passed away, some years later, Wesley met and married Ms. Annette K. Spurr, where they had a fun-filled life together. They both enjoyed similar hobbies such as riding motorcycles, horses, tractors, and “play daying”. Wesley always had a love for classic antique cars. He and both of his wives enjoyed going to and participating in car shows.
When Mrs. Annette passed away 15 years later, Wesley always had his little four-legged critters to keep him company. Pudge and Ginger really helped him through life’s struggles when he had no one else. Pudge and Ginger were good friends not only to each other and him, but also Mrs. Annette. Ginger was Annette’s riding partner whether it was in a car, saddle, or as ride along on the tractor, as long as she had a breeze in her ears and whiskers. Pudge was more laid back but he enjoyed going on adventures in the pastures, hanging out and seeing what the horses were getting into. Pudge made sure to stay Wesley’s little buddy until the very end. Ginger was always there as well, until her passing, but made sure his new critter Sadie would know how to comfort him to continue their legacy.
Wesley later reunited with Vickie Newsom with whom he shared and really made a heart felt remainder of his life with her. They helped one another and she helped him more than she knew when things started to get rough. Whether it be errands or just company, she was there.
Wesley will be remembered and dearly missed by his daughter, Angela Nelson; his four grandkids, Dawn Magers, Desiree Magers, Jack Magers, and Hailee Hill; his great-grandchildren, Brycen Vaughan, Misty Vaughan, Killian Ford, Leelan Ford and Axion Sell; and his friend, Vickie Newsom.
He was a great, kindhearted man who would help anyone when he could. He had quirks like anyone else does, from his collection of sunglasses, to the small models of antique cars on his TV stand, to his collection of hats. So many that it seemed like he had hats for his hats at times. His sense of humor and the jokes he would tell will always be remembered especially by those who knew him most. He will be missed, but we know we will see him again one day.
Services will be held at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel in Quinlan, Texas on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 2pm with a burial to follow at Lone Star Cemetery. The family will be accepting guests prior to the service at 1pm.
