Funeral services for Tammy Young, 55, of Emory, will be held on Friday, December 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Turner Cemetery in Emory.
Mrs. Young died on December 7, 2021. She was born on August 5, 1966. She graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock in 1982. She started her nursing career in Greenville as an LVN on the labor and delivery floor. At the time of her death, she was employed in Longview as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She spent her life caring for children, at work and for her own children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband West Young; ex-husband and father of her biological children, Sigi Fredo Jr. (Freddie) Salinas; mother, Stella Miller; step-father, Roger Miller; mother-in-law, Judy Palmer; father-in-law, Jim Palmer; sons, Sigi Fredo III (Trey) Salinas and wife Tiffany, Dustin (Dusty) Salinas and wife Caitlin, and Jo-el (Joey) Salinas; stepsons, Abe Young and Eli Young; grandchildren, Dayana Salinas, Landon Salinas, Bryce Salinas, Dawnie Salinas, Evangeline Salinas and Mateo Salinas
Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy McQueen; and brother, Donny McQueen.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
