Mr. Swoape died on February 28, 2023. He was born on October 13, 1972, to Loyd and Beth Swoape, in Tyler.

He was the oldest of four children and an honor graduate of the Alba-Golden Class of 1991. He thrived in agriculture and mathematics. He learned and developed his skills as a brick mason from his father and grandfather and went on to become a master craftsman. Practical projects and works of art came from his shop. He loved a challenge.

He was an adventurous outdoorsman. He learned to scuba dive, and enjoyed spending time fishing and being outdoors with his family, from beach vacations to camping trips. He enjoyed the simple, country life of gardening, tending to his cows and land, and the lost art of visiting, either on your front porch or the tailgate, just to spend time with you.
