Roxie Ann Robertson

1952 – 2020

Services for Roxie Ann Robertson, 67, of Point, were held October 3 at Believers’ Baptist Church, Emory. Bro. Jason Roland officiated.

Interment followed in Colony Cemetery. Pallbearers were Artie Hahn, Kenneth Adams, Randy Griggs, Dusty Hahn, Debbie Adams and Lorie Griggs. Honorary pallbearers were Sondra McCurry, Denise Oliver, Benji Wedeking, Jon Wedeking, Timothy Wedeking and Karl Wedeking.

Mrs. Robertson died on October 1, 2020, in a Tyler hospital. She was born December 2, 1952, in Hugo, Okla., to Kenneth and Laura Harris Sumner. She spent her early years in Oak Cliff and graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas in 1971, which was the last year the school operated. She also spent three years in Alaska, and then the last 33 years in Rains and Wood counties. She worked at Texas Instruments, Max-A-Mart in Emory, and Parkview Nursing Home in Paris, while taking care of her mother and grandmother. She was very artistic and enjoyed photography, drawing and coloring. Roxie loved her family and animals.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by her husband of 31 years, Shane Robertson of Point; son, Jason Lee Michaels and wife Robin of Rowlett; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Danny Alan Sumner.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
