A funeral service for Robert Clifton Chastain, 71, of Emory, was held on February 7 at the Emory Baptist Church.
Interment followed in Emory City Cemetery.
Mr. Chastain died on February 4, 2021, in Sulphur Springs. He was born on September 12, 1949, to Joe Bob Chastain and Mary Bloodsworth Chastain in Greenville. He married Marena Kay Shelton Chastain on May 31, 1969, in Point, and they enjoyed 48 years before she passed in 2017. They had two sons, Robert Joel and Kurt Bradley. Mr. Chastain was a member of Point Church of Christ and was a retired battalion chief of the City of Greenville Fire Department. He had owned several businesses, including Green Light Auto Parts Store, Robert’s Automotive and Robert’s Cycle and Sound.
Mr. Chastain is survived by his sons, Joey Chastain and wife Wendy and Brad Chastain and wife Randa; grandchildren, Coltan Chastain, Makayla Chastain, Karlee Chastain and Alli Chastain; sister, Betty Valentine; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
