Richard Glen Jenkins, 61, died on August 31, 2020, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Rowlett. Interment was in Colony Cemetery in Alba.
He was born, April 18, 1959, in Lexington, Miss., to David and Dorothy Jenkins. He married Debra Griggs on November 10, 1984, at Camille Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Okla., and had two loving children, Richard Benjamin Jenkins and Patricia Louise Rasbury.
Mr. Jenkins worked as a roughneck in the oil field. He was a loving husband and father and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. He spent a lot of his time tinkering and fixing things, but his latest passion was playing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife of 36 years; son, Benjamin Jenkins and wife Sarah of Garland; daughter, Patricia Rasbury and husband Craig of Garland; grandsons, Gavin and Connor; granddaughter, Meryn; nephew, Justin Jenkins; sisters, Dorothy Foley and husband Paul of Emory, and Dean Powell of Kosciusko, Miss.; brother, David Jenkins of Quitman; and many nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ben Jenkins.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home of Alba.
