1945 – 2025

Funeral services for Rebecca Ann Staton “Becky”, 80, will be held on Saturday, November 22, at 10:00 a.m., at Bull Creek Cowboy Church. Interment will follow at Lynch Cemetery.

Mrs. Staton died on November 9, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on November 1, 1945, in Dallas, to Robert Earl Cooper and Maxine Marie Ross.

She was married to her husband, Jack, and they worked together resetting grocery stores and pharmacies. She also enjoyed working at Stockton’s factory with her mother and sister. She would bring home the latest fashion and would dress everyone in matching clothes.

She was an outdoor enthusiast. She loved her roses, watching her hummingbirds, and collecting her frogs. She enjoyed fishing with Jack, and made lasting memories participating in bass tournaments. Her passion for fishing was underscored by her membership in the CAST and BASS organizations, where she found camaraderie and was known as “Catfish Becky” by many.

She was known for her famous strawberry banana cheesecake, deviled eggs, and homemade beef jerky which became staples at family gatherings and social events.

Mrs. Staton is survived by her husband, Jack Staton; children, James Lemons of Point, Larry Lemons and wife Melanie of Point, Marie Harris and husband John of Farmers Branch, and Sherry Malone of Point; grandchildren, Ashley, Brittney, Johnathan, Justina, Heather, Joe, Ginger and Jessie; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Earline Kubicek of Hickory Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donnie Lemons; and sister, Sue Reynolds.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
