Property tax protest, appeals during shelter-in-place

The Rains County Appraisal District (RCAD) has prepared the 2020 Notices of Appraised Value for all non-commercial properties. The notices should be mailed on or around April 20. That will open the window for property owners to conduct informal meetings with their appraiser before formal protest. At this time, informal protest meetings with appraisal staff will be conducted by scheduled phone appointments after notices are mailed.
