A private memorial will be held for Nina Ruth Young, 81, of Emory.
Mrs. Young died on September 26, 2020. She was born in California on March 1, 1939, to Joe and Mamie Seeber. She married James Charles Young on August 21, 1956, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
She retired from Rains ISD as the High School Library Aide. She loved working with young people and helped to create the Senior Mother-Daughter Tea. As a member of Emory Baptist Church, she taught the High School Girls’ Sunday School Class for many years.
Her family was her greatest joy. She loved her boys unconditionally and would later find the ultimate happiness in being Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending evenings with her extended Sidekick’s family over dinner and conversation.
Mrs. Young is survived by son, Scott Young and wife Denita of Emory; daughter-in-Law, Karen Young of Emory; granddaughters, Kristen McNew and husband Dustin of Emory, Brooke Dockery and husband Dustin of Baytown, and Taylor Young of Dallas; grandsons, Korey Young and wife Danielle of Emory and Klay Young and wife Bailey of Emory; brothers, Joe Seeber, Donnie Bryant and Jack Watson; sister, Jeanetta Watson; and great-grandchildren, Memphis and Madden McNew, Paisley and Piper Young, Berkleigh and Wesson Dockery, and Parker Young.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kenny Young; brothers, Paul Seeber, Wayne Bryant, Wendell Watson and Lloyd Watson; and sister, Faye Strickland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emory Baptist Church Family Life Center building fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
