A funeral service for Nannie J. McQueen, 82, of Emory was held on March 13 at Calvary Baptist Church in Emory. Bro. Billy Smith officiated.
Interment followed in Emory City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jason Jarrett, Jesse Jarrett, Brian Rivers, Heath Sisk, Justin Sisk, Trent Sisk and honorary pallbearer Jamie Jarrett.
Mrs. McQueen died on March 10, 2020, in Emory. She was born on June 28, 1937, in Emory to William “Bill” and Maude Sisk. She was raised in Emory where she attended school.
She was married to Willie McQueen for over 40 years. She worked in the cafeteria at Rains ISD for a number of years and also cleaned houses well into her 70s. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church until her health started failing. She loved cleaning houses so much that she would clean houses all day and then come home, tear her’s apart and clean it. It was therapy to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. McQueen is survived by her husband; son, Gary Sisk and wife Leigh of New Orleans, La.; daughters, Rebecca Jarrett and husband Jamie of Emory, Renita Rivers and Lyndie Rivers, both of Point; brother, Robert Sisk and wife Dolly of Emory; grandchildren, Jason Jarrett, Jamie Jarrett, Justin Sisk, Brian Rivers, Melanie Sisk, Tracie Mott, Kaci Illingworths; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W.J. Sisk and Lynn Sisk; and sisters, Christine Ridenour and Betty Pennington.
