Services for Melissia Pruitt Thomas, 49, of Grand Saline were held March 7 at Bartley Funeral Home. Bro. Homer Morgan officiated.
Interment followed in Damascus Cemetery, Lindale. Pallbearers were Rusty Wood, Ty Wood, Dillon Wood, Tommy Cummings, James Coats and Robert Johnson Jr.
Mrs. Thomas died on March 4, 2020. She was born on February 8, 1971, in Commerce. She lived her early years in Emory before moving to Grand Saline 30 years ago. She was a member of the Rains High School Class of 1990, and also a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church.
On April 7, 2007, She married Bradley J. Thomas in Fruitvale. She was a certified nurse’s aide and enjoyed working and helping others.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband of Grand Saline; stepfather, Wilbert Calder of Grand Saline; stepmother, Vernice Pruitt, of Lindale; brother, Stacy Pruitt of Whitehouse; stepbrother, James Coats of Grand Saline; three sisters, Teresa Johnson of Emory, Tammy Cummings of Azle, and Christy Wood of Grand Saline; God-sons, Ty Wood and Dillon Wood, both of Grand Saline; grandmother, Granny Stanley of Grand Saline; nieces, Bobbi Gale Johnson and Taylor Davis; nephew, Robert Johnson Jr.; great-nephew, Bryson Johnson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, W.D. Pruitt; and mother, Leta Stanley Calder.
