A private graveside service for Mary Beatrice Dougherty, 95, of Sulphur Springs was held on May 9 in Dougherty Cemetery.
Mrs. Dougherty died peacefully in her sleep at her residence with her family beside her in Sulphur Springs. She was born on April 27, 1925, in Emory to W.J. and Nealie Fitzgerald Pennebaker. She married Leo Dougherty in Emory on July 17, 1944. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Dougherty is survived by her daughter, Susan Miesse and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Christopher Miesse, Courtney Singleton and husband Brian, and Jordan Miesse; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jackson Miesse, Jocelyn Miesse, Juliette Miesse, Peyton Miesse, Paige Miesse, Parker Singleton, Presleigh Singleton, Prestyn Singleton, Emerson Miesse and Malone Miesse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David Dougherty; sister, Geneva Regan; and brother, Jim Pennebaker.
