Funeral services for Marshall Thomas Burton, 67, of Alba, were held on February 28, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Chaplain Robert Stovall officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba. Serving as pallbearers were Keelan Swoape, Dale Floyd, Matt Short, James Short, Shawn Newland and Charles Myer, Jr.
Mr. Burton died February 24, 2024, in Tyler. He was born February 15, 1957, in Dallas, to Grady Eldred and Elsie Evans Burton. On May 31, 1980, he married Linda Terry in Edgewood. They moved from Saginaw to the Alba area in 2002. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alba and “Anchors of Hope Ministries.” He was a truck driver for 33 years and drove for Walmart the last 10 years of his trucking career. He loved his grand babies, his wife, and his three girls (in this order). He also enjoyed trucking and traveling with his family.
Mr. Burton is survived by his wife of 43 years of Alba; three daughters, Dotty Thornton and husband Bill of Alba, Ellie Burton of Chatsworth, GA, and Jessica Myers and husband Charles of Alba; brother, Glenn Burton and wife Thressa of Dallas; sister, Jody Short of Corinth; grandchildren, Zachary Thornton and wife Lana, Jaxson Thornton and fiancé Pressi, Travis McTaggart, Brielynn Myers, and Evelynn Myers; great-grandchildren, Alex Wettach and Bear Butler; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Whitley; and niece, Chelsea Moore.
