Funeral services for Maggie Lou Jeffrey, 90, were held on June 22, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Reverend Ed Neal officiated and interment followed at Willow Springs Cemetery. Bradley Jeffrey, Chad Jeffrey, Jacob Watkins and David Williamson served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Jeffrey died at her home on June 18, 2024. She was born on March 31, 1934, in Grand Saline, to Thomas Bell and Ethel Thornton Bell.
Mrs. Jeffrey departed formal education early to support her family by picking cotton. She married Joe Jeffrey on July 28, 1956 and they were married 42 years before his death. She dedicated her life to her family and later went to work at E-Systems, retiring in the 1990s. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Stockton of Minnesota, and Clifton Boyd Jeffrey of Sulphur Springs; daughter Sandra Reeves and husband Gary of Mineola; grandchildren, Courtney Gentry and husband Craig of Lone Oak, Bradley Jeffrey and wife Ashlie of Emory, Chad Jeffrey and wife Crystal of Poetry, Kellie Stockton and husband Dave of Minnesota, Natalie Williamson and husband David of Mineola, and Donnie Jr. Parrish of Dallas; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Landon Jeffrey; four brothers; and two sisters.
