A rosary will be prayed for Lynnette “Lynn” Hoff at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 on Saturday, January 30, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 551 East FM 2795, Emory. The ladies guild will host a reception after the Mass. A Celebration of Life and Memories will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the family home in Emory. Weather permitting, the gathering will be outside for increased social distance precautions.
Mrs. Hoff died on January 16, 2021. She was born on July 4, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minn,, to John and Jeannette Lund. She married William “Bill” Hoff in 1968. They lived in many places, traveling due to her husband’s construction superintendent job. Between that and her childhood, she spent time in North Carolina, Virginia, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana.
She lived for over 20 years in Lake Jackson, where she worked in maintenance for Oyster Creek Apartments with her father. She cared for her father in his later years. She enjoyed visiting the beach every year and traveled with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter annually to visit beaches and see fireworks from Maine to Myrtle Beach to Corpus Christi. She enjoyed finding the hidden local treasure in any community. She settled in Emory after her husband’s passing, to be closer to her family. She enjoyed feeding multitudes of hummingbirds, cardinals and other birds. She was an active member of Bible study and the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Ladies Guild. She was famous for her sausage rolls among parishioners at Sip and Dunk and her bacon dressing among her family at Thanksgiving.
She is survived by her daughter, Jynnette Neal and husband Dan B.; and granddaughter, Leannette “Lea” Neal.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
