A memorial service for Lennis Wayne Young, 81, was held on July 6, at House of Prayer. Mr. Young died on June 29, in Rowlett, after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 18, 1943, in Wichita Falls, to Wayne James Young and Maureta Ophelia Rackley Young.
Mr. Young went to Emory Schools until sixth grade and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. He worked for and retired from Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting Indian artifacts and visiting with family. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his three sons, Lennis Jr. and wife Lisa of Emory, Timothy Young and wife Connie of Wichita, Kansas, and Michael Young of Fort Worth; sisters, Ronda Rabb and Rita Hughes of Emory; grandchildren, Salina, Michael, Alicia, Jacob, Joshua, Brittany, Matthew, Charles and Hope; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Andrew, Lydia, Hannah, Gabriel, Janis, Lincoln, Donovan, Aiden, Tessa, Madison, Maddox, Alexis, Hunter, Stetson, Everlee, Veronica, Maddox, Axle, Blade and Onyx; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Ade and Fleda Childers; and first wife Linda Hall Young Bowden.
