Lawrence Michael Keating

1946 – 2020

Lawrence Michael Keating, 73, of Emory, died on August 22, 2020, in Tyler. He was born on November 12, 1946, in Fort Worth, to Geoffrey and Lorraine (McGee) Keating. 

He worked as an office supply salesman and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas. He married Cynthia on April 19, 2003 in Emory. He loved to dance the Fort Worth Push and Houston Whip. He enjoyed coaching pee wee football, playing golf, watching Notre Dame football, the Cowboys, Houston Texans, Rangers and Astros. He loved to ride his John Deere lawn mower and grow watermelons.   

Mr. Keating is survived by his wife; children, Tracy Amador, and Patrick and Kari Keating; brothers, Tim and wife Diana, and Jerry and wife Mary; grandchildren, Erin Keating, Robyn and Dustin Wooddell, Ryan and Mindy Keating; great-grandchildren, Talea, Coralei and Lucas Wooddell, Lauren and Amelia Keating; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Ann Keating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
