Funeral services for Kenneth W. Gowin, 82, of Emory, were held on November 21, at Miracle Faith Baptist Church. Interment followed at Dunbar Cemetery. Colin Gowin, Steve Gowin, David Gowin, Darin Gowin, Ronald Langley and Chris Cox served as pallbearers.
Mr. Gowin died on November 18, 2022. He was born on November 4, 1940, to Elmer and Rachael Wade Gowin. He was married to his sweetheart, Doris Faye Dodd, for 63 years.
He loved his church, Miracle Faith, and was baptized on May 15, 2022. He worked in the oil field, construction and managed the B&B grocery store for many years. He loved gardening, driving his tractor and riding around looking at cows. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and raising cane with his brothers.
Mr. Gowin is survived by his wife; sons, Mike Gowin and wife Kobi of Emory, Randy Gowin and wife Brittany of Emory, and Ronald Langley of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Rhonda Clarke and husband Wes of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Michael Gowin and wife Ashley, Amber, Colin, Hannah, Taylor and Katie; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Gracie, Montana, Roper, Jessie and Brayden; brothers, Danny Gowin and wife Sherian, Larry (Bo) Gowin, and Perry Gowin, and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Wayne Gowin and Ronnie Gowin.
Services were under the direction of Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home.
