Services for Jerry Ronald Neagle, 70, of Lone Oak, were held on March 27, at New Hope Baptist Church in Lone Oak. Pastor Rick Sydnor officiated. Interment was in Hall Cemetery, Lone Oak. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Balentine, Frank Payne, Lester Hunt, Danny Bowman, Otis Payne and Greg Payne.
Mr. Neagle died on March 23, 2023, in Greenville. He was born on May 11, 1952, in Waco, to Marlin Emmitt and Evelyn Dennis Neagle. He lived in Greenville for 23 years before moving to Lone Oak 19 years ago. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and a 1971 graduate of Lone Oak High School. On April 2, 1971, he married Fonda Lynn Payne at Prairie Valley Baptist Church in Campbell. Jerry served eight years in the U.S. Army. He worked at Aramark Uniform Services for 18 years and for Lone Oak ISD.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; mother-in-law, Billie Jean Payne of Lone Oak; daughters, Teresa Lynn Wilson and husband Greg of East Tawakoni and Jerri Wofford and husband Brad of Flint; brother, Marshall Edward Neagle and wife Vicki of Golden; sister, Connie Love and husband Gary of Golden; seven grandchildren, Hali Balentine and husband Scott, Lorem Wofford, Damian Wilson, Aden Wilson, Madalynn Wilson, Guy Wofford and Rhyder Wofford; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Balentine; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marlin David Neagle and Michael Ray Neagle; and father-in-law, James F. Payne.
