A memorial service for Jeffrey Lee Smith, 70, will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.
Mr. Smith died on May 13, 2024. He was born on August 2, 1953, to Gilbert and Katherine Smith in Greenville.
Mr. Smith attended elementary, middle and high school in the Leonard ISD where he excelled at football, basketball and baseball. His peers voted him most athletic, most handsome and most school spirit.
After graduation in 1972, he enlisted in the US Air Force. He served in Germany, and earned a place on the Air Force basketball team. He also served in Thailand, Arizona and Colorado. He was honorably discharged and enrolled in East Texas State University. He enjoyed making furniture for his customers and family. He was also an avid jogger and exercised daily.
Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Katherine Smith; brother, David Smith; and sisters, Kim Salerno and husband Mike, and Dianna Wager and husband David; nephews, Lawrence and wife Carmen with daughters Asun and Lucy, Michael and wife Brittney with sons Logan and Max, Stephen Salerno, Jordan Smith and Thornton and Orie Wager; niece, Anna Wager; and many aunts, uncles and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Herbert and Clara Smith, and Edward and Elsie Hooten.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel of Towers or other veterans organizations.
