Funeral services for Eddie Doyle Young, 87, of Alba, were held on December 21, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba. Bro. Otis Lee officiated. Interment was in Cottonwood Cemetery, Alba. Serving as pallbearers were Ed Young, Jr., Jeff Young, Jerry Robinson, Randy Carter and Steven Roach.
Mr. Young died on December 14, 2022, in Tyler. He was born on February 26, 1935, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana, to Eddie Leroy and Pearl Bean Young. He married Barbara Faye Harris on September 12, 1958, in Covington. He owned and operated a carpet business and proudly served in the United States Marines.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years of Alba; two sons, Eddie D. Young, Jr. and wife Tina of College Station and Robert Jeffrey Young and wife Connie of Alba; daughter, Christy Diane Dixon of Springtown; sister, Janie Haddaway and husband Jim of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Erin Keenright, Josh Young, Ashley Dixon and Audrey Young; great-granddaughter, Morgan Keenright; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Herman Young and Denver Young.
