Dorothy Strebeck

Services for Dorothy Strebeck, 89, of Alba were held March 12 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba. Bro. Johnny Strebeck officiated.
Interment followed in Turner Cemetery, Emory. Pallbearers were Charles Strebeck, Johnny Strebeck, Jerry Glasscock, Derek Glasscock, Ricky Dempsey, Leland Strebeck and Bobby Strebeck.
Mrs. Strebeck died on March 9, 2020, in Quitman. She was born July 11, 1930, in Grand Saline to Elmer Thomas and Susie Ann Sherwood Taylor. Mrs. Strebeck was a resident of Wood County since 1968 and a member of the Golden Church of Christ.
She enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the birds and she loved sweet tea. Her husband was allowed to hunt squirrels in the back woods, as long as he didn’t shoot “her squirrel”! Dorothy was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and if they lost the other team obviously cheated.
Mrs. Strebeck is survived by two sons, Charles Strebeck and wife Teresa of Alba, and Johnny Strebeck and wife Kathy of Broaddus; two daughters, Charlene Strebeck of Alba and Sharon Strebeck Dempsey of Mineola; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.C. Strebeck; infant daughter, Janie Sue Strebeck; two brothers; and four sisters.
