Funeral services for David Lynn Evans, 72, of Point, will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Point. He died on February 14, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1950, to Ellis and Ruth Evans at their home in Point.
Mr. Evans graduated from Edgewood High School and worshipped at the Baptist church.
He began working as a house framer and sheetrock installer eventually becoming a journeyman’s electrician. He was well-known and respected in his community and was passionate about his work.
He loved fishing, reading western novels, barbecuing outdoors with family and friends, basketball, throwing washers, and sitting in his front yard visiting with all. He helped anyone in need and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Evans is survived by his brothers, Don Evans and Bobby Evans; sisters, Debra Hatchel and Sharon Robicheaux; son, Bobby Lynn Evans; and grandchildren, Dylan Ingram, Kyle Evans, Alexis Evans and Alex Evans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Evans and Buddy Evans; sister, Peggy Culpepper; and son, Charles David Evans.
A family visitation will be held in the recreational hall of the church one hour prior to the service.
