A memorial service with full military honors for Damon Corey Donald, 46, was held on January 3, 2026, at the Mims Volunteer Fire Department in Avinger. The eulogy was given by Timothy P. White.
Mr. Donald died on December 19, 2025, in Linden. He was born on August 29, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, to David and Donna Donald.
He graduated from Rains High School in 1996 and was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. He was a veteran of the Iraq war.
Following his military service, he devoted himself to education, serving as an Agriculture teacher for Rains High School in Emory, and the Avinger and Linden-Kildare Independent School Districts.
He is survived by his mother; three brothers, Darrell Donald and wife Casey, Daniel Donald and wife Jolene, and Dennis Donald and wife Jennifer; sister, Kayden Donald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
