Curtis Oliver Mooring

1942 – 2021

A celebration of life for Curtis Oliver Mooring, 79, of Tyler, was held on September 11 at Grace Community Church in Tyler.

Mr. Mooring died on August 31, 2021. He was born on January 14, 1942, in Dallas, to Roy and Winifred Mooring. He attended Emory schools for grades 1-12 and graduated from Emory High School. He married Brenda Ann Boyett in 1968 and they were sweethearts for 53 years.

Mr. Mooring served honorably in the United States Air Force for four years in Germany. He enjoyed woodworking and made countless items for others out of old pieces of wood or tree branches. He loved automobiles and had a collection of model cars. He loved music and had an extensive vinyl collection. He had a playful heart and quirky spirit and liked making people happy.

Mr. Mooring is survived by daughter, Amy LeAnna; grandchildren, Patrick and twins Scarlet and Sophia; sister, Lois Osborn and husband Jim; brother, Tommy Mooring and wife Tonna; brother-in-law, Ronnie Boyett and wife Susan; sister-in-law, Connie Shrum and husband Jack; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and half sister, Betty Stanley.
