Services for Mr. Clyde Junior Swindell, 85, of Golden, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba. Bro. Byron George and Bro. Samuel Priddy will officiate.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be B.J. Marler, Matthew Rogers, Kyle Slaymaker, Jonathon Diederichs, David Diederichs, Jason Daugherty, Christopher Daugherty and Wade Davis.
Mr. Swindell died on February 12, 2021, at his home. He was born on December 4, 1935, in Wolfe City to Thomas Clyde and Ludie Esther Long Swindell. He served in the US Army. Clyde married Barbara Cozett Moore on February 19, 1954, in Alba. He spent the last 30 years in Wood County where he was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. He was a Mason.
Mr. Swindell is survived by his wife; son, Jeff Swindell and wife Koko of Azle; two daughters, Deborah Diederichs of East Bethel, Minnesota, and Gerri Rogers of Mineola; brother, Roland Swindell and wife Shirley of Boyd; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Swindell and Tommy Joe Swindell.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, at the funeral home.
