Funeral services for Cheryl Lynn White Beatty, 67, of Grand Saline, were held on May 31, 2022, at Main Street Baptist Church. Bro. Mike Roberson, Dr. Bruce Smilie and Dr. Kelly Burton officiated. Pallbearers were Jeremy Beatty, Blake Youngblood, Terrance Tucker, Milton Slocum, Daimen Moody and Mark Thompson. Honorary pallbearer was Andy Thompson. Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. Beatty died on May 25, 2022, at her home in Grand Saline. She was born on February 21, 1955, in Kirbyville, to Dewitt Alan and Bessie Louise Prioux White. She graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Ala. and received her B.S. Degree at The University of North Alabama in Florence. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alba, and had previously served at First Baptist Church in Canton, and Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline. She served for many years as a special education teacher at Rains, Fruitvale, Grand Saline and Alba. She enjoyed playing her flute, sewing, cooking, cruising, singing in the church choir, china painting, and teaching ladies Bible Study and Vacation Bible School. She also traveled to Ukraine, Hungary and Romania on mission trips with the Singing Men of North Central Texas. She especially loved being with her family.
Mrs. Beatty is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mark Beatty of Grand Saline; son, Jeremy Beatty of Grand Saline; four daughters, Lauren Youngblood and husband Blake of Rowlett, Sarah Thompson and husband Andy of Longview, Erin Tucker and husband Terrance of Frisco, and Megan Slocum and husband Milton of Marksville, La.; brother, Dudley White and wife Peggy of Hartselle, Ala.; sister, Kathy Lewis and husband David of Athens, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Daimen Moody, Gage Beatty, Kollen Thompson, Nolan Youngblood, Audrey Youngblood, Mace Youngblood, Aaliyah Tucker and Emily Thompson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Paula Beatty and Jan Walker of Asheville, N.C., Tim and Sandy Beatty of Leesburg, Va., Kris and Suk Beatty of S.C., and Kevin and Jennifer Beatty of Hartselle, Ala.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
