A memorial service for Charles (Chuck) Witt, 76, will be held on Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m., at New Hope Baptist Church, 8122 FM 513, Lone Oak, Texas 75453.
Mr. Witt died on February 4, 2023, at home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born on December 10, 1946, in Lubbock, to Thomas Jefferson Witt and Annie Pearl (Watts) Witt. He proudly served nine years in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and eighteen years as a Texas peace officer.
While his family called him Charles, most people knew him as Chuck. He loved the Lord, his family and his church families. He also cared about his community and contributed where he could, sometimes coaching a softball team at a girls’ home and another time helping with the evacuees from the Katrina hurricane.
Mr. Witt was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and considered Terlingua Bible Church his home away from home. He loved doing what he could for the Lord and was deeply involved with various projects at several local churches. He enjoyed working alongside his wife in their computer business and all their home projects.
Mr. Witt is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughter, Chris Witt; brother, Alvin Witt and wife Donetta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Terlingua Bible Church “Building Fund,” P.O. Box 191, Terlingua, TX 79852.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home of Quinlan.
