Graveside services for Charles “Charlie” Kimberlin, 79, of Lone Oak, were held on April 17, at Hall Cemetery, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
Mr. Kimberlin died on April 14, 2024, in Greenville. He was born on May 27, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles Hobert and Mary Magdalene Thompson Kimberlin. He was the oldest of his four siblings and was known in his younger years as “Butch” or “Boogie.” His family moved to Texas in 1951. He married Janet Waldrum in 1960 and they had five sons and one daughter.
He has been with Diane Maples for the last 32 years and he gained an additional family of one son, and two daughters; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kimberlin is survived by his children, Kenny Kimberlin of Lone Oak, Stacy Kimberlin of Greenville, Julie Rackler and husband Jimmy of Greenville, Mark Kimberlin of Lone Oak, Mike Kimberlin and wife Stephanie of Caddo Mills, Charles “Chuck” Kimberlin and wife Kim of Caddo Mills, Jeri Butler of Quinlan, and Barbara Brown and husband Kenny Weems of Quinlan; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Tammy Jones and husband Joe Bill of Lone Oak; brother-in-law, Jean King and wife Susan of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Gabby King Visalla of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one son; and a grandson.
