A graveside service for Carol Sue Cantrell, 68, of Point was held on June 21 at Lonestar Cemetery. Jeff Jackson and Zach Honzell officiated.
Darel Cantrell, Gayle Cantrell, Dwaine Cantrell, Wendell Reed, Shane Cantrell and Veldon Cantrell served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was J.D. Hawkins.
Mrs. Cantrell died on June 18, 2020, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 4, 1952, in Chama, N.M., to James D. and Wanda Carden Martin. She married Buddy Cantrell in Rockwall. She was a member of Bull Creek Cowboy Church in Lone Oak, Point Ladies Civic Club and volunteered for over 10 years at Rains County Good Samaritans. She was a great cook. She always loved sharing her meals with others.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her husband of Point; mother of Tacoma, Wash.; daughters, Jamie Reyes and husband Wayne of Tacoma, Wash., and Crystal Lankford and husband Fred of Va.; son, Darel Cantrell of Rowlett; grandchildren, Sara, Amber, Shane and Kayleigh; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Martin and Barbara Martin; and Neva Adcock Wesson, who she referred to as her Texas Mama.
She was preceded in death by her father; brothers, Bobby Martin and Danny Martin; and sister, Mary Martin.
