A memorial service for Carl Lewelling, 77, will be held on Thursday, January 23, at 4:00 p.m., at the Wilson Orwosky Chapel in Emory.
Mr. Lewelling, affectionately known as the “Ford Man,” died on January 20, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1948, to Carl Clifton Lewelling and Melba Jean Lewelling (Parker) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He married Patricia Lynn in 1967, and they spent 57 beautiful years together. His love for his family and passion for all things Ford shaped the many lives he touched. He was always eager to lend a hand to those around him. He was a devoted father and grandfather and delighted in going to every single game for his children and his grandchildren.
He was an avid automotive enthusiast and enjoyed learning about, fixing and appreciating trucks and cars, particularly Fords. His enthusiasm was infectious, further solidifying his legacy as the ‘Ford Man.’
Mr. Lewelling is survived by his wife, Patrica Lewelling; daughter, Tammy Bayliss and Keith; son, Robert Lewelling and Tammy; grandchildren, Phillip Michael Lovvorn-Lewelling and Deanna, Stormi Crump and Ivan, Ryan Motes, Tyler Lewelling, James Walls, Cody Lewelling, and Noah Lewelling; great-grandchildren, Christian Lewelling, Natalie Cortez, Caden Carl Lovvorn-Lewelling, Evelyn Lovvorn-Lewelling, and Skye Roman; sister, Patricia Marty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Lewelling; and sister, Nancy Porterfield-Bietz.
