A private graveside service was held for Billy James Medders, 86, on April 25 at Clifton Cemetery. Pastor Danny Calk officiated.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Medders, Brandon Medders, Dustin Medders, Ryan Medders, James Warren, Randy Warren, Aaron Rivers and Gary Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Cox, Ronnie Morgan and Denny Reaves.
Mr. Medders died at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville on April 22, 2020. He was born on April 26, 1933, to James Walter Medders and Lois June (Garrett) Medders in Wilson, Oklahoma. He later met and married Maxine Stewart in 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was of the Baptist faith and a proud Masonic Lodge member for over 50 years. He loved to farm, fish, work in his garden, tend to his honey bees and spend time with his family and friends. He retired as a planner from Temco/LTV/E-Systems/Raytheon in the early ’90s. He enjoyed camping and fishing in Colorado. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His warm heart and infamous storytelling will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Medders is survived by sons, Ronnie Medders and wife Jean Ann, and Ricky Medders; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jennifer Medders, Brandon and Bekah Medders, Brooke and John Miller, Cheryl and Logan Meuth; six great grandchildren, Dustin, Bristol, and Brynn Medders, Ryder Darby, and Cole and Payton Miller; brother, Bobby Medders and wife Sue; sisters, June Patterson, Altie Wolf and Joann Prather; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Joy Terry.
Arrangements were under the direction of Quinlan Funeral Home.
