Funeral services for Barbara Jean Boykin, 81, of Point, were held on September 17, at Wilson-Orwosky Chapel. Reverend Byron Houck officiated and interment followed at Donelton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Roberts, Kayden Roberts, Seth Roberts, Marcus Hargrove, Casey Hargrove and Dennis Cason. Honorary pallbearer was Lonnie Boykin.
Ms. Boykin died on September 13, 2024, at her home in Point. She was born on May 3, 1943, in Dallas County, to Noel Aderholt and Vallie Cummings. She married Jimmy Boykin in 1962 and worked as a substitute teacher. She was known by her students as Ms. B. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and painting. She was easy going and loved flowers, specifically gardenias. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Lonnie Boykin; daughters, Kim Hargrove and husband Kevin, and Michelle Gordon and husband Kenneth; grandchildren, Krista, Brandon, Marcus, Nicki, Seth and wife Karli, and Casey and wife Whitney; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Ryleigh, Gannon, Henli and Emma; and brother, Noel Aderholt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Boykin; and sister, Patsy.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
