Dollie Mitchell Sisk, a beloved member of the community, bid farewell to this world on August 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on March 20, 1940, to Smiley “Pleas” Mitchell and Lucinda York Mitchell in Emory, Texas. She and Robert Sisk were married in Emory on December 26, 1959 until he passed away in 2021. They enjoyed the best of life for 62 years.

Those closest to Dollie remember her as a woman whose love language revolved around cooking and caretaking. Dollie’s nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen, as she wholeheartedly cared for those around her. She found joy in various hobbies – from cooking and traveling with friends and family to hunting and fishing.

Described as tough yet unconditionally loving, Dollie carried herself with class, a true matriarch in every sense of the word. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, grace, and unwavering support for her loved ones.

Above all, Dollie’s proudest accomplishments were her grandchildren. She prioritized attending every game and event in their lives, always being their biggest cheerleader and pillar of support. Her presence and unconditional love will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind. She and Robert were committed supporters of this community and the Rains Wildcats.

Dollie is survived by her son, Heath Sisk and wife, Kristi; grandchildren, Kaley Jones and husband Tyler, Kara Harper and husband Nate, Torie Talkington, Kash Sisk, and Kolt Sisk; great grandchildren, Kade, Kohen, and Kolbie Harper, Jett and Journey Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Sisk;  daughter, Kim Sisk Talkington; siblings, Winifred, Geraldine, Buck, Grover, Evelene, Winona, Loreta, Buddy, Ivan and Lou.

The family would also like to express our thanks and gratitude to caregivers Sonia Broiles, Millie Crews and Marissa Spinks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Dollie to the Freedom Church of God food pantry, or to the MSA Coalition.
