A visitation for Elvira Carreno, 62, will be held on January 4, at St. John’s Catholic Church from 4:00 p.m. – sunrise on January 5. A mass will be held on January 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Carreno died on December 31, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 18, 1961, in San Jose Agua Azul, GTO, Mexico, to Anisteto Carreno and Maria de Jesus Escamilla.
Mrs. Carreno was a dedicated homemaker, and her ability to create delicious meals brought joy and comfort to countless gatherings over the years.
She took pride in her garden and cultivated a beautiful oasis that brought tranquility to all who visited. Her garden served as a testament to her commitment and perseverance. She also had a talent in creating handmade clothes with intricate stitching and attention to detail.
Mrs. Carreno is survived by her sons, Mario Hermenegildo Jr. and wife Blanca of Emory, Jose de Jesus Hermenegildo of Point, and Juan Hermenegildo and wife Jennifer of Blossom; grandchildren, Adamaris Renteria, Jose Bellot, Virginia Bellot, Jasmin Hermenegildo, Gabriela Hermenegildo and Vicente Hermenegildo; and five brothers and five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Hermenegildo Sr.; parents; and three brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
