Lee Swain

A sunrise celebration of life was held for Lee Swain, 89, of Lake Cherokee on October 9 at the Cherokee Club on Lake Cherokee. 

A graveside service followed later that afternoon at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg.

Mr. Swain died on October 7, 2019. He was born on February 5, 1930, to Harvey and Jessie Lee Swain in Rains County. Mr. Swain grew up in Rains County. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a well-respected entrepreneur in the state of Texas and beyond. He lived a full life and will be missed by many.

Mr. Swain is survived by his wife of 20 years and best friend, Yvonne; sons, Richard Swain and wife Louise, and Steve Swain; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrea, Scott, Colleen, Brendan, Josh and Dillon; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dot; stepdaughter, Cateche; and Ramona Faye Grandstaff.

Memorials may be made to the Cateche Dike Performing Arts Scholarship Fund at 6 Spring Creek Place, Longview, TX 75604.
