Graveside services for James Robert Blanton, 65, of Lone Oak, will be held on Thursday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m., at Hall Cemetery with David Glidewell officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Blanton, Chris Brown, Joshua Glidewell, Ray Crabtree, James Freeman and Joshua Fowler.
Mr. Blanton died on April 20, 2023, in Quinlan. He was born on January 10, 1958, in Gainesville, Florida, to Robert Ivy and Rebecca Paschell Blanton. He spent his early years in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Skyline High School. He lived in Greenville for several years before moving to Lone Oak 18 years ago. James was a member of Top Rail Cowboy Church in Greenville.
Mr. Blanton is survived by his mother, Becky Norwood of Graham; sons, Cody Blanton and wife Morgan of Lone Oak and Charles Tawater and wife Bre of Colorado; daughters, Brandi Collins and husband Curtis of Graham, Chance Flint and wife Ashley of Golden Valley Ariz., and Brittani Bartlett of McKinney; six grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Missy Barney.
Memorials may be made to Hall Cemetery, c/o Betty Junkin, 220 Westward Ct., Waxahachie, Texas, 75167.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., at the cemetery.
