A graveside service for James Ferrell Ramsey, 74, was held on January 13, at Pilgrims Rest #1 Cemetery in Emory. Mitch Ramsey officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Kerry Wayne Ramsey, Morgan Ramsey, Andre Salinas, Jeremy Sims, Chris Thompson and Jimmy Westbrook.
Mr. Ramsey died on January 11, 2023, in Sulphur Springs. He was born on November 27, 1948, in Greenville, to Farris Ramsey and Mona Lee Bishop Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey worked at a family dairy for over 40 years and enjoyed milking cows and driving tractors. In all his years he never met a stranger around Emory. He was baptized into Christ in July, 2008, and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his three brothers, Norman Ramsey and wife Lollie, Lynn Ramsey and wife Carla, and Hershel Ramsey and wife Karen of Mineola; nine nieces and nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
