Mrs. Ragsdale died on May 13, 2022, in Sulphur Springs. She was born on October 28, 1931, to Lillie Mae Robbins McCollum and Edgar Raymond McCollum on a small farm near Bellview, about ten miles southwest of Alba. She married Walter Ragsdale and lived in the Alba area all her life. She retired as a hairdresser, was a devout Christian, a great cook, and was kind and helpful to everyone. Her loving personality and the fact that she was one of the last of her generation in the McCollum and Ragsdale families have made her a surrogate mom and grandmother to many.

Mrs. Ragsdale is survived by her daughter  Jeanie Craig and husband Larry; sons, Mike Ragsdale and wife Gloria, and Walter Ragsdale, Jr. and wife Mary; grandchildren, Annette Morgan, Lynette Weatherly, Michael Ragsdale, Jeremy Ragsdale and Mason Ragsdale; great-grandchildren, Joshua Cotter, Madison Case, Chris Spanko, Kenzie Fitzgerald, Hunter Farrington, Ty Garrett, Kadence and Abby Thompson, Lucy and Harry Ragsdale, and Barrett Ragsdale;  great-great-grandchildren, Braxton and Maddox Fitzgerald; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.  She leaves a host of Christian brothers and sisters, friends and acquaintances.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ragsdale, Sr., sisters, Frauline Gresham and Dorothy Allen, brother, Raymond McCollum; and grandchild, Wynette Case.
