A memorial service for Paul M. Foley, 79, of Emory, will be held on Saturday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m., at the Emory Church of Christ, Hwy. 69. Interment will be at a later date at Colony Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mr. Foley died on Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Sulphur Springs. He was born on September 10, 1942, in Graham, to Charles Leon and Annie Sedalia McNamara Foley.
He graduated from Abilene High school in 1960 and started his family in 1967. He was a retired major in the U.S. Army National Guard and a director of property management in Dallas for 25 years. He served as an RISD school board trustee for 15 years, and was Rains County Justice of the Peace for four years. He was also involved in many other organizations in Rains County.
In 1996, Mr. Foley and his wife Dorothy moved from Dallas to Rains County. He was a member of the Emory Church of Christ where he served as a song leader and a Bible class teacher. The Foleys spent the best years of their lives enjoying nature and the people of Rains County, especially their church family.
His passion was interacting with children and young adults. He coached and supported several generations in their efforts in education, drama, band and sporting endeavors. He was a volunteer for the Avon Rice Relays and Special Olympics each year.
Mr. Foley is survived by his wife; daughter, Dee Ann Chandanais and husband Bob from Lewisville; sons, James Bryan and wife Ranae of Emory and Nathan Bryan and wife Lynn of Anna; grandchildren, Rae Bennett, Nicole Zamora and husband Michael, Zachary Bryan and wife Amanda, Natalie Bryan, Ian Bryan, Erin Bryan, Marissa Gagaliar, Ethan Jones, Caleb Jones, Noah Jones and Isaac Jones; great-grandchildren, Hayley Martinez and Aiden Zamora; sisters, Lillie Rowden and Teri Baker; sisters-in-law, Dean Powell and Debra Jenkins; brother-in-law David Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Linda and John Leonard, Tanda and Wayne Pettit, Spring and Wayne Shelton, Justin and Melissa Jenkins, Benjamin and Sarah Jenkins and Patricia and Craig Rasbury; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris A. Foley; brother, Lewis Foley; and brother-in-law, Richard Jenkins.
Donations may be made to Tipton Children’s Home, Tipton, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
