Funeral services for Thelma Nabors, 90, of Emory, will be held at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory on Friday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m.
Ms. Nabors died on February 24, 2022, at Brookdale Nursing Home in Dallas. She was born on December 29, 1931. She was a native of Emory and a long-time resident of Dallas.
She grew up in Rains County, graduated from Emory High School, and moved to Dallas to pursue a career as a professional secretary. She retired from the Haggar Slacks Company in the early 1970s to take care of her mother. She enjoyed many vacation trips with her mother, and enjoyed her pet dog Pixie. She also enjoyed music and her prized piano.
Ms. Nabors is survived by nephews, Jerry Nabors of Blue Ridge, David Nabors of Malakoff, Russell Conger, of Amite, La., Mark Conger of Prairieville, La., and Steve Conger of Terrytown, La.; nieces, Cynthia Nabors Russell and Thelma Jean Nabors Jones, both of Corsicana; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Q. Nabors; mother, Eunice Knight Nabors; brother, Wilbur Nabors; sister, Martha Nabors Conger; nephews, Randall Nabors, Roger Nabors, Ricky Nabors and Wilbur Nabors, Jr; and niece Kaye Nabors Wright.
