Funeral services for Wanda Lee Pierce, 88, will be held on Friday, December 17, at 10:30 a.m., at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory. Burial will follow at Turner Cemetery in Emory.
Mrs. Pierce died on December 6, 2021. She was born in Dallas on March 15, 1933, to Raymond and Mary Thelma Pollard. She lived most of her life in Dallas and enjoyed her later years in the country life of Emory. Mrs. Pierce spent most of her life helping others by working as a caregiver.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee Philpot and daughter-in-law Ellen Philpot; nephew, Willard Manus and wife Heather; granddaughters, Melissa Dawn Davis and husband Allen Davis, and Emily Gayle Philpot-Cope; great-grandsons, Hayden and Brody Cope, Nathanial Davis and Christian Welch; and son-in-law, Richard Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Pierce; brothers, Jack Beckham and Willard Manus; daughter, Cynthia Ann Welch; grandsons, Michael Lance Welch, Kenneth Shane Philpot; and granddaughter, Carmen Lee Philpot.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
