Graveside services for Billy Ray Bratton, 89, of Alba, are scheduled for Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m., at Royse City Cemetery. Dr. Kelly Burton will officiate.
Mr. Bratton died on November 5, 2021, at his residence in Alba. He was born on August 1, 1932, in Royse City, to Ernest and Jessie Ola Daniel Bratton. On November 11, 1955, Billy married Myra Jean Rayburn in Dallas. He worked building and repairing cotton gins nationally and internationally. They lived in Start, Louisiana, before moving to Alba in 2004. He attended First Baptist Church, Alba, and loved his family dearly.
Mr. Bratton is survived by his wife of almost 66 years; sons, Mike Bratton of Royse City and Timothy Bratton and wife Kathy of Canton; daughter, Debbie Hart and husband Wes of Murchison; sister, Linda Hogan of Lindale; three grandchildren, Joseph Bratton and wife Amy, Clint Bratton, and Savannah Bratton; three great-grandchildren, Brody, Brooks and Bryce; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Bratton; two brothers, Pete Bratton and Eugene Bratton; and sister, Juanice Brown.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
