A funeral service for Wayne Earl Walling, 80, of Emory, will be held on Friday, August 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Fork Baptist Church. Dr. Tracey Bartley will officiate.
Interment will follow at Lake Fork Cemetery.
Mr. Walling died on August 4, 2021. He was born on July 15, 1941, to Thomas Earl Walling and Ruby Walling at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He attended Dallas Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington Technical High School in 1960. He excelled in Architectural and Mechanical Engineering.
He married Francis Green and had three sons. He served his country in the Army in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He worked for American Signature as a Lithographer in the printing department, and he retired after 30 years of service.
He was very active in Lake Fork Baptist Church until he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He looked forward to the Christmas Cantata each year. He loved fishing from his boat and was an excellent golfer.
Mr. Walling is survived by wife, Arlene, of 25 years; sons, Devrhon, Brandon and Cory; eight grandchildren, Paige Lewis, Kelcy Lynn, Brianna, Ashley, Braeden, Christian, Nyla, and Jackson Walling; great-grandchildren, Jayden De’sean Glass, Kyle Wayne and Kenzie Michelle Lewis; sister, Evelyn Walling; stepson, Jaime Rodriguez; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife Francis Green Walling.
