Jeffery Myron Galay

1969 – 2021

A funeral service for Jeffery Myron Galay, 51, of Greenville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Wolfe will officiate.    

Mr. Galay died on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was born on May 13, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, to Myron and Charlyn (Mick) Galay.  On July 27, 2002, he married Amy Cooper in Emory. He graduated from Malvern High School and received his master’s degree from the University of Akron.  He worked as an engineer for Graham Packaging Company since 2001. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who was passionate about watching and being involved in his children’s activities especially Hannah’s cheer and gymnastics, Joe’s football and baseball, and Stone’s baseball. 

Mr. Galay is survived by his wife of Greenville; mother, Charlyn Galay Kulla of Malvern, Ohio;  sons, Joe Galay and Stone Galay of Greenville; daughter, Hannah Cooper of Martin Mills; brother, Dave Galay and wife Jaynie of Minerva, Ohio; sisters, Barbara Burwell and husband Brad of Bolivar, Ohio, and Lorraine Baldwin and husband Richard of Lakeland, Florida; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diana and Wayne Wolfe of Emory; brother-in-law, Justin Wolfe and wife Lela of Alba; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family request memorials be made to the Leukemia Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In accordance with CDC guidelines, wearing a mask and social distancing will be required while in the funeral home.
