Funeral services for Donna Kirkpatrick, 80, of Emory, were held on February 20, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Bro. Bryan Easley and Bro. Dwayne Randolph officiated.
Interment followed at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery. Clint Traylor, Justin Lovvorn, Daniel Wrysinski, Eric Christian, Justin Smith and Bryan Bell served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Dominguez and her great-grandsons.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick died on February 15, 2021, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on May 13, 1940, in Emory, to Woodrow Carson Asbill and Wanda (Yarborough) Asbill. She married Gerald Kirkpatrick on June 22, 1956.
She worked for Haggar Slacks for many years. She also worked for dear friend Karen Young at Country Flowers and Gifts for several years. The job she loved the most was being Mom, Granny and Gran Gran. She was her children’s biggest supporter while they were growing up and involved in various activities. She sewed drill team uniforms, cheer uniforms, worked concession stands, kept baseball record books, and cheered them on in whatever activity they were involved in at the time.
She loved to fish, and spent many hours on the lake fishing with her husband. She was known to all of her family and friends as the best fish fryer around. She loved to travel, often with friends and family.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by daughters, Deborah Traylor and husband Randy, Sandy Lovvorn and husband Robert; son, Kenneth Kirkpatrick and wife Tonja; grandchildren, Clint Traylor and wife Alicia, Stacy Smith and husband Justin, Tera Bell and husband Bryan, Justin Lovvorn and wife Nichole, Daniel Wrysinski, Candace Dominguez and husband Ed, Savanna Christian and husband Eric, Sierra Kirkpatrick, Michelle Richey, Neal Richey and wife Rose, Amber Reagan and husband Jeremy, and Taylor Knight; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Asbill; brother-in-law, James Ratliff; sisters-in-law, Faye Asbill, Delois Spence and husband Roy, Martha Kirkpatrick and Ann Kirkpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2018; brothers, Bobby Asbill and W.C. Asbill; and sisters, Iva Nell Ratiff, Patricia Asbill and Laura Jean Barrett.
